The French Market District offers a variety of commercial properties for lease. Commercial properties include the Shops of the Colonnade, the Shops at the Upper Pontalba, and Farmers and Flea Markets.
Additionally the French Market District also offers venue rentals for private events, film productions, and photography.
The Shops of the Colonnade & The Shops at the Upper Pontalba
At this time there is no commercial space available in the Shops of the Colonnade or a the Shops of the Upper Pontalba. When space does become available the information will be posted the Public Notice page.
Farmers Market
Farmers Market Vendor: A Farmers Market Vendor is an individual or company working as either a farmer or food producer who sells fresh food or agricultural products, including fresh fruit and vegetables, meat products, dairy products, grains, baked goods, and other freshly prepared foodstuffs. CURRENTLY WE ARE NOT ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR FARMERS NOR FOOD PRODUCERS.

Daily Food Vendor: This applicant is selecting to sell prepared food items that are pre-packaged. Daily food vendors are not required to be open 7 days a week. Daily food vendors has the option to vend based on their availability. Interested parties can apply in person or on line below. Lease / Commercial Tenant: This applicant is applying to lease a permanent food stall in the Public Market. At this time there is no commercial space available in the Farmers Market. When space does become available the information will be posted the Public Notice page.
Flea Market Vendors
Flea Market Vendor: A Flea Market Vendor is an individual engaged in the sale of new or used goods in the open-air Pavilions of the French Market, of which goods may either be produced by the Vendor or purchased at wholesale for retail sale.
Are you interested in the Flea Market as a possible site for your business?
Flea Market is now accepting applications in person on Thursdays and Fridays between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. (expect holidays), at the Flea Market Office, 1235 N. Peters Street, New Orleans, LA 70116. No appointments necessary.
Each application is reviewed by the Vendor Committee (Review Meeting) and French Market Corporation (FMC) before a final decision is made. The review process takes 2 – 4 weeks.
Prospective Vendor Application Process
- Applicants must fill out application in person at the flea market office (online process coming soon).
- Applicants must bring product samples when filing out application for photos.
- Applicant must present a valid driver’s license or equivalent form of government issued, pictured i.d.
- Nonrefundable application fee is $5.00

Vendor Committee Meeting
The Vendor Committee Review Meetings are held every 2nd Tuesday of the month. Applicants are welcomed but not required to be present.
- Time: 4:30pm.
- Location: Varies due to Covid/Hurricane Ida damage (call office for details).
The Vendor Committee Meetings (immediately following Review Meetings) are held every 2nd Tuesday. All vendors are encouraged to attend.

- Location: same location as Review Meeting (see above for details).
Special Event Rentals
The French Market District offers indoor/outdoor special event venues available for large and small private events. As each event is unique, we request that you fill out an application to begin the process. Please complete the digital FRENCH MARKET EVENT APPLICATION LINK. Upon receipt of your completed application our event team will contact you within (7) business days. Events must be booked no less than 90 days in advance, no exceptions.
Please note: Submission of the application does not confirm use of requested spaces. All events in the French Market District must be authorized by the French Market Corporation and processed through the New Orleans One-Stop Office for permitting.

Filming and Photography in the French Market District
Please complete the digital Commercial Filming and Photography Application. Upon receipt of your completed application our event team will contact you within (7) business days. Film and photography shoots must be booked no less than 15 days in advance.

Once the application has been received, you will be contacted to discuss the details of your groups performance.
